( Abkürzung RP, oft auch RLP [7]) ist ein Land im Südwesten der Bundesrepublik Deutschland. Es entstand 1946 als Neugründung durch die Vereinigung von ehemaligen Landesteilen Preußens (des Südens der Rheinprovinz und des Westens von Hessen-Nassau) mit Rheinhessen und dem bayerischen Regierungsbezirk Pfalz.
