Students can study a range of subjects in gymnasium at different levels, called a line of study (studieretning). The course contains some compulsory subjects such as Danish, English, mathematics, basic science, and history.
The stx is typically offered by general upper secondary schools (Gymnasium in Danish). Some of the schools also offer the two-year higher preparatory examination (hf), and some schools all four secondary education programmes (stx, hf, hhx and htx). Last modified 4. oktober 2022.
