Overview. Iago ab Idwal. Quick Reference. Was a great-grandson of Idwal Foel and represented the older dynasty of Gwynedd. He acceded on the death of Llywelyn ap Seisyll in 1023, but was murdered in 1039 by Llywelyn's son, Gruffydd, who ruled Gwynedd until 1063.
