Daniel Gerson, born in Chicago on May 21, 1955, spent nearly 18 years as a commodity trader at the Chicago Board of Trade. Dan retired from trading and moved to Kansas City where he raised his family, including coaching baseball teams for his son Tyler and Luke.
Daniel Robert Gerson (August 1, 1966 – February 6, 2016) was an American screenwriter and voice actor, best known for his work with Pixar Animation Studios and Walt Disney Animation Studios. He co-wrote the screenplays of Monsters, Inc., Monsters University and Big Hero 6, which was reported to be his last film as screenwriter.

Writer: Monsters, Inc.. Daniel Gerson, best known for co-writing Disney's "Big Hero 6" and Pixar's two "Monsters" films died February 6th, 2016 at his home in Los Angeles after battling brain cancer. He was 49 years old. A New York State native, Gerson grew up immersed in the arts and starring in musical theater performances at his high school.
