The Indiscreet Jewels (or The Indiscreet Toys, or The Talking Jewels; French: Les Bijoux indiscrets) is the first novel by Denis Diderot, published anonymously in 1748. It is an allegory that portrays Louis XV of France as Mangogul, Sultan of Congo, who owns a magic ring that makes women's vaginas ("jewels") talk.

Denis Diderot (1713–1784), a towering philosopher of the French Enlightenment, published an early novel titled Les Bijoux Indiscrets ( [Indiscrete jewels], translated as The Indiscreet Toys in an English edition of 1749) in January 1748 without an author or a publisher name.
An 18th century comedy/satire. It features Mangogul king of Congo, loosely based on *Charles II, who asks his wizard for something that will make women tell him the truth. He receives a magic ring that causes vagina's to speak because that apparently is the only honest part of a woman... ok so not the most pc thing in the world ;) .
