At the height of his fame, Derren Nesbitt was the man we loved to hate. With his peroxide-yellow hair, large pursed lips and faultless German accent, he cornered the market in Nazi villains. He reached his apotheosis as the cold-blooded SS officer, Major von Hapen, in that classic war thriller, Where Eagles Dare (1968).
