Sønderborg Castle ( Danish: Sønderborg Slot) is located in the town of Sønderborg, Denmark on the island of Als in South Jutland. It houses a museum focusing on the history and culture of the area. The castle is located in the middle of the town, in a park setting overlooking Als Fjord. The museum is open year-round. [1] History.

The St. Mary's Church [1] [2] [3] is a church owned by the Church of Denmark in Sønderborg, Denmark and the church of the parish with the same name. Thanks to its location on a hill, the church building is very iconic for the city. History. In the Middle Ages there was a leper colony on a hill just outside the city.

Covering an area of 496.57 sq km (191.7 sq mi), Sønderborg has a population of 27,000 (2011 estimate). Sønderborg was named after the local castle, Sønderborg Slot, which was built in 1170 by Valdemar I.

Sønderborg est une ville danoise dans l’ancien amt (département) du Sud Jutland. Une partie de la ville se trouve sur l’île d’ Als, l’autre sur le continent ( Jutland ), les deux étant reliées par un pont. Ce port de l'Alssund est particulièrement bien abrité.
