Dorothy Parker. Nació el 22 de agosto de 1893 en West End, Nueva Jersey, (Estados Unidos). Hija de un judío alemán y de una inglesa. Cursó estudios en el internado del Sagrado Corazón, en Nueva York. Entre 1916 y 1920 fue crítica literaria y teatral en las revistas Vogue y Vanity Fair, de Nueva York, antes de dedicarse a la literatura.
