Percy L. Julian Biography. Dr. Percy L. Julian, scientist, was born in Montgomery, Alabama on April 11, 1899 and died in Waukegan, Illinois on April 19, 1975. The son of a mail clerk, Dr. Julian held many jobs to help pay his expenses at De Pauw University in Greencastle, Indiana.
THE HISTORY OF PERCY L. JULIAN HIGH SCHOOL. In 1975, Percy L. Julian High School emerged as a result of the community's desire to relieve the overcrowding of area high schools. School officials originally referred to Julian as the 103rd and Dan Ryan Site High School.
