Duke Maximilian of Württemberg (German: Wilhelm Ferdinand Maximilian Karl Herzog von Württemberg; 3 September 1828, Dischingen – 29 July 1888, Regensburg) was a member and Duke of the royal house of Württemberg.

Maximilian war ein Großneffe des ersten württembergischen Königs Friedrich. Er heiratete 1876 die Prinzessin Hermine von Schaumburg-Lippe (1845–1930), Tochter von Fürst Adolf I. von Schaumburg-Lippe.
The Duchy of Württemberg was formed when, at the Diet of Worms, 21 July 1495, Maximilian I, King of the Romans and Holy Roman Emperor, declared the Count of Württemberg (German: Graf von Württemberg), Eberhard V "the Bearded," Duke of Württemberg (German: Herzog von Württemberg).
Eberhard V/I (1445 – 1496) Count of Württemberg-Urach, later Duke of Württemberg. The Treaty of Münsingen reunited the two separate Lines under Eberhard V in 1482. Eberhard obtained the title of Duke in 1495 .
Eberhard I (born Dec. 11, 1445, Urach, Ger.—died Feb. 24, 1496, Tübingen) was a count, later the 1st duke of Württemberg (from 1495), an administrative and ecclesiastic reformer who laid the foundations for Württemberg’s role in German history.
