The Duchy of Saxe-Lauenburg ( German: Herzogtum Sachsen-Lauenburg, called Niedersachsen ( Lower Saxony) between the 14th and 17th centuries; Danish: Hertugdømmet Sachsen-Lauenborg ), was a reichsfrei duchy that existed from 1296 to 1803 and again from 1814 to 1876 in the extreme southeast region of what is now Schleswig-Holstein.

Augustus of Saxe-Lauenburg (Ratzeburg, 17 February 1577 – 18 January 1656, Lauenburg upon Elbe) was Duke of Saxe-Lauenburg between 1619 and 1656. He was a son of Duke Francis II and his first wife Margaret of Pomerania-Wolgast, daughter of Philip I, Duke of Pomerania-Wolgast .

Eric II of Saxe-Lauenburg: Son. May have largely assumed command from 1338. 1361: The first two rulers in Saxe-Ratzeburg to use the name Eric are the first Saxon rulers at all with that name. The third of their number is accounted for by the duke of Saxe-Mölln-Bergedorf, with the later Eric IV continuing the joint numbering.
Bernard II of Saxe-Lauenburg was a member of the House of Ascania and Duke of Saxe-Lauenburg from 1426 to 1463. His full title was Duke of Saxony, Angria and Westphalia, however only ruling the branch duchy of Saxe-Lauenburg between 1426 and 1463.
