Dumbarton (Dùn Breatainn or 'fort of the Britons'} is a town in West Dunbartonshire, Scotland. It is on the north bank of the River Clyde where the River Leven flows into the Clyde estuary . In 2006, it had an estimated population of 19,990.

Dumbarton Castle (schottisch-gälisch Caisteal Dhùn Bhreatainn) ist eine Burg oder Festung in der schottischen Stadt Dumbarton in der Council Area West Dunbartonshire.
