Duncan Edwin Duncan-Sandys, Baron Duncan-Sandys CH, PC (/ s æ n d z /; 24 January 1908 – 26 November 1987), was a British politician and minister in successive Conservative governments in the 1950s and 1960s. Duncan Sandys (born Jan. 24, 1908, London, Eng.—died Nov. 26, 1987, London) was a British politician and statesman who exerted major influence on foreign and domestic policy during mid-20th-century Conservative administrations. The son of a member of Parliament, Sandys was first elected to Parliament as a Conservative in 1935.
