Earl of Merioneth was a title in the Peerage of the United Kingdom created in 1947 along with the Duke of Edinburgh and the Baron Greenwich for Philip Mountbatten, later Prince Philip, upon his marriage to Princess Elizabeth, later Queen Elizabeth II.   2. In 1947, ahead of his marriage to Princess Elizabeth, Lieutenant Philip Mountbatten was created Earl of Merioneth, as well as Duke of Edinburgh and Baron Greenwich, by his father-in-law, King George VI.

  4. Earl of Merioneth is an 0-4-4-0 Double Fairlie and was the third locomotive to be built by the Festiniog Railway Company in its own workshops at Boston Lodge. Construction began in 1972 and was completed in 1979. It carries its name in English on one side and in Welsh (Iarll Meirionnydd) on the other.

  6. 8 de abr. de 2018 · ‘Earl Of Merioneth' is a 0-4-4-0 Double Farlie and was the 3rd locomotive built at Boston Lodge Works. The loco was complete in 1979 and was a replacement for No. 3 Livingston Thomspon (now at the National Railway Museum in York).

  7. 17 de mar. de 2022 · The second Earl of Merioneth. The new double Fairlie would be the second locomotive to carry the name Earl of Merioneth. The first, originally named No. 3 Livingston Thompson, subsequently named Taliesin, was renamed Earl of Merioneth in 1961.
