Eastphalia (German: Ostfalen, pronounced [ɔstˈfaːlən]; Eastphalian: Oostfalen) is a historical region in northern Germany, encompassing the eastern Gaue (shires) of the historic stem duchy of Saxony, roughly confined by the River Leine in the west and the Elbe and Saale in the east.

It is located right off the "border line" in an adjacent area, but where a central German dialect (Anhaltisch) is spoken. Most likely O schersleben was meant, where the local Dr. Ziethen publishing house printed a number of books in Eastphalian dialect.
