  1. Edmund Dudley, (c.1462–1510) Dudley was educated at Oxford, and pursued a career as a lawyer. He specialised in the prerogative rights of the king, which qualified him very well for Henry VII’s purposes. He was elected to parliament in 1491–2, and again in 1495 as knight of the shire for Sussex.

They were imprisoned in the Tower of London. The new king, Henry VIII, wanted to show the people that his rule would be unlike that of his father and the removal of two hated ministers reinforced that view.
