  6. Eduard Bloch was born in Frauenberg on 30th January 1872. A member of a Jewish family he studied medicine in Prague and then served as a medical officer in the Austrian Army. After leaving the army in 1901 he opened a private doctor's practice in Linz. He married Emilie Kafka and their daughter Trude was born in 1903.
