Greiz (amtlich: Greiz im Vogtland) ist eine Stadt im Südosten Thüringens, unmittelbar an der Landesgrenze zu Sachsen gelegen. Sie ist die Kreisstadt des Landkreises Greiz und Mittelzentrum für den südlichen Teil des Landkreises. Die Stadt liegt im Tal der Weißen Elster im thüringischen Vogtland.
Greiz ( / ɡraɪts / gryts; German pronunciation: [ɡʁaɪ̯t͡s] ⓘ) is a town in the state of Thuringia, Germany, and is the capital of the district of Greiz. Greiz is situated in eastern Thuringia, 100 kilometres (62 mi) east of the state capital Erfurt, on the White Elster river.
Greiz est une ville d'Allemagne (située en République démocratique allemande de 1945 à 1989), dans le Land de Thuringe et chef-lieu de l'arrondissement du même nom. Greiz fut la résidence officielle de la famille de Reuss ( Reuß en allemand) qui régnait sur la principauté de Reuss branche aînée jusqu'en 1918 .
