In the last seven years of his life, he was also the stadtholder of Groningen (1640-1647).

Frederick Henry, prince of Orange, count of Nassau (born Jan. 29, 1584, Delft, Holland—died March 14, 1647, The Hague) was the third hereditary stadtholder (1625–47) of the United Provinces of the Netherlands, or Dutch Republic, the youngest son of William I the Silent and successor to his half-brother Maurice, prince of Orange.
