Major General Sir Edward Michael Pakenham, GCB (19 March 1778 – 8 January 1815), was an Anglo-Irish Army officer and politician. He was the son of the Baron Longford and the brother-in-law of the Duke of Wellington, with whom he served in the Peninsular War.

Edward Michael Pakenham was an Anglo-Irish army officer who spent the majority of his short life fighting for the British army. In the winter of 1814 and 1815, British troops under General Edward Pakenham attempted to capture New Orleans and seize control of the Mississippi River. Opposing the British was the commander of the U.S. Seventh Military District, Maj. Gen. Andrew Jackson.
