Sir John Port of Etwall, on his death in 1557, left funds to create a grammar school which was then established at the Repton Priory.

Ashley Currie - Deputy Head Academic (Repton) Ashley is the Deputy Headmaster (Academic) of Repton School and will become Principal Deputy Head from September 2024. Prior to joining Repton in 2021, Ashley was an Assistant Headmaster at St. John's School, Leatherhead and prior to that, Head of Mathematics at St. Edward's School, Oxford.
Sir John Fogge (d.1564) of Repton in Ashford, Kent, eldest son, Sheriff of Kent in 1545, who married firstly Margaret Brooke, the daughter of Thomas Brooke, 8th Baron Cobham (d. 19 July 1529) by his first wife, Dorothy Heydon, and secondly Catherine, the daughter of one Holand of Calais. Repton School marks its 450th anniversary in 2007 with a royal visit from Prince Edward. YEAR of 2007 Repton becomes one of the first British schools to establish an overseas branch with the opening of Repton Dubai.
