Catherine Fillol was the daughter and co-heiress of Sir William Fillol of Woodlands Horton Dorset and of Fillol's Hall Essex. She became the first wife of Sir Edward Seymour who went on to become the first Duke of Somerset of a new creation Lord Protector of England and the uncle of King Edward VI after his sister Jane married King Henry VIII.
Catherine married Edward SEYMOUR 1st Duke of Somerset, KG, son of Sir John SEYMOUR of Wulfhall, Savernake, Wiltshire, and Margery WENTWORTH, circa 1527. (Edward SEYMOUR 1st Duke of Somerset, KG was born circa 1500, died on 22 Jan 1552 in Tower of London, London, England and was buried in Church of St Peter ad Vincula, Tower of London, England.)
