McAdoo married the President Wilson’s daughter, Eleanor Randolph Wilson, at the White House in 1914. He told Wilson that he would resign following the marriage, but the President urged him to remain in the administration.

McAdoo was soon courting President Wilson’s daughter Eleanor and the two were married in a ceremony held at the White House in 1914. The groom was then fifty-one years old and the bride a mere twenty-five and McAdoo offered to resign from the Cabinet, but Wilson demurred.

7 de abr. de 2024 · MONTECITO, Calif., April 6 --Mrs. Eleanor Wilson McAdoo, a daughter of President Wilson and the former wife of William Gibbs McAdoo, Mr. Wilson's Treasury Secretary, died last night at her home here.
