US label founded by Jac Holzman in December, 1950, in New York City. The original parent company for the label was the Elektra-Stratford Record Corp. Elektra initially recorded folk music, ethnic music, jazz and gospel, although it later expanded into blues, pop, and rock music. Label Code: LC 0192 / LC 00192.
