Elizabeth Tilley (c. August 1607 – December 21, 1687) was one of the passengers on the historic 1620 voyage of the Mayflower and a participant in the first Thanksgiving in the New World.
Elizabeth Tilley. c. 1607 - 1687. Elizabeth Tilley was about 13 when she sailed on Mayflower. Both of her parents, her uncle Edward Tilley, and his wife died in the first year. The orphaned Elizabeth survived, became the ward of fellow passenger John Howland, and eventually married him about 1625. She had 10 children and 88 grandchildren.
28 de ago. de 2020 · Who is Elizabeth Tilley? John Howland married Elizabeth Tilley in about 1623. No official record of their marriage has been found, but a division of cattle record from 1627 reveals that the couple had two children by then.
Howland not only made it to America and worked off his indenture, but married a pretty young woman in the new colony named Elizabeth Tilley. They produced ten children, who begat 88 grandchildren, from whom an estimated two million Americans descended over the next four centuries.

Elizabeth was one of five children, but was the only one of her siblings to accompany her parents onboard the Mayflower. She was born this summer 410 years ago.
John Howland was one of the 41 “true” Pilgrims who signed the Mayflower Compact, and in 1624 he married fellow Mayflower passenger Elizabeth Tilley - daughter of John and Joan Tilley. The couple had 10 children who all survived until adulthood.
