Emma of Provence. Emma (c. 1007-1062) was Sovereign Countess and Margravine of Provence from 1037 until 1062. She was the daughter of Rotbold II of Provence and Ermengarde of Burgundy.

By his marriage to Emma of Provence, daughter of Rotbold II, William III, Count of Toulouse inherited lands and castles in Provence. Emma inherited the title Margrave of Provence upon her elder brother's death in 1037.

According to the Foundation for Medieval Genealogy, the origins of this wife of Rotbald II are unknown; there is no indication in this most trusted source that she was the daughter of Boson I de la Marche (or that Boson had a daughter with this name), so if this parentage is still linked it is probably not correct.

26 de abr. de 2022 · He was the first husband of Ermengard, later wife of Rudolf III of Burgundy. He left two sons, referred to as stepsons of the king of Burgundy, named Hugh and William III. He left one daughter, Emma, who married William III Taillefer, Count of Toulouse, and thus brought the margravial title in Provence to the House of Toulouse.
