Charles Brandon, 1st Duke of Suffolk ( c. 1484 – 22 August 1545) was an English military leader and courtier. Through his third wife, Mary Tudor, he was brother-in-law to King Henry VIII . Biography.

He was a prominent courtier during his reign. His father, William Brandon, died fighting for Henry Tudor (later King Henry VII) in 1485.
Charles Brandon, 1st Duke of Suffolk (1484–1545) was a favourite of Henry VIII. Henry Brandon (1516–1522) died at the age of six. Eldest son of the above. Henry Brandon, 1st Earl of Lincoln (1523–1534), second son of the 1st Duke, predeceased his father, without issue.
