Erik Bruhn was born in Copenhagen, Denmark, the fourth child and first son of Ellen (née Evers), owner of a hairdressing salon, and third child of Ernst Bruhn.

Erik Bruhn fue un bailarín y coreógrafo danés considerado como uno de los más grandes bailarines de ballet de todos los tiempos. Nacido en Copenhague, Dinamarca en 1928, Bruhn comenzó su carrera en el Royal Danish Ballet. Pronto se destacó por su técnica impecable y su gran presencia escénica.
