The National Centre for Research and Restoration in French Museums ( C2RMF, Centre de recherche et de restauration des musées de France) is the national research centre in France responsible for the documentation, conservation and restoration of the items held in the collections of more than 1,200 museums across France.
The mission of the C2RMF is to implement, in liaison with the curators responsible for the collections, the policy of the French Museum Service of the Directorate-General for Heritage Research, preventive conservation and restoration of the collections of museums in France. Fondé le 16 décembre 1998, le Centre de recherche et de restauration des musées de France est issu de la fusion du Laboratoire des musées de France et des ateliers de restauration du service des musées nationaux d’une part et des « musées classés ou contrôlés » d’autre part.
