  7. Description. Luise Dorothea of Saxe-Meiningen, daughter of Ernst Ludwig I, Duke of Saxe-Meiningen and Dorothea Maria of Saxe-Gotha, married in 1729 Frederick III of Saxe-Gotha. The portrait can be compared with contemporary engravings of the sitter which share a similar neckline and jewelled hairstyle (for example RCIN 609775, c. 1729-39).
