French, 1865-1925. Follow. Félix Edouard Vallotton was a Swiss and French painter and printmaker associated with the group of artists known as Les Nabis. He was an important figure in the development of the modern woodcut. He painted portraits, landscapes, nudes, still lifes, and other subjects in an unemotional, realistic style.

22 de feb. de 2024 · Félix Vallotton was a Swiss painter who left his home country to join the artistic nebula of Paris at the fin de siècle—the end of the century.He is mainly known for his wood engravings and illustrations of contemporary life in the French capital which was marked by the Industrial Revolution, a strong demographic rise and, consequently, an increase in class inequalities.
