l relatar una historia, te preguntas si decir, “Hector and I went to the movies,” o “Hector and me went…”. Aquí dirías “Hector and I went to the movies”, pero “Hector and I” no es siempre correcto. "The race was won by Hector and I" es tan gramaticalmente incorrecto como decir “Hector and me won the race". Es fácil elegir correctamente si recuerdas...
Recuerda la diferencia en caso entre los pronombres.
Tanto “I” como “me” son pronombres que utilizamos para referirnos a nosotros mismos, pero
es nominativo, adecuado para ser utilizado como el sujeto de una oración o cláusula, y
es acusativo, apropiado para usarse como el objeto de un verbo.
Nominativo – El caso nominativo es utilizado cuando el pronombre es el sujeto (ejm, "I rode in the car") o, cuando se habla de forma muy formal, después de una forma del verbo "to be" (ejm; "It is I," seria formal, "It's me" seria informal).
Acusativo – El caso acusativo es utilizado cuando el pronombre es el objeto (ejm, "He drove me to work") o con preposiciones (ejm, "between you and me," no "between you and I").

My friend and I is correct, as you and your friend are still the subject of the sentence (albeit in apposition). However, it is common to say me and my friend, particularly in colloquial situations. If you are speaking in a formal register, use my friend and I; if not, use whichever you prefer.
