Enzo (or Enzio; c. 1218 – 14 March 1272) was an illegitimate son of the Hohenstaufen emperor Frederick II, who appointed him 'King of Sardinia' in 1238. He played a major role in the wars between Guelphs and Ghibellines in the Imperial kingdom of Italy , and was captured by his enemies in 1249.

Enzo of Sardinia (1215-11 March 1272) was King of Sardinia from 1238 to 1272, as well as Duke of Modena under the Holy Roman Empire. He was the favorite illegitimate son of Frederick II of Germany and Adelaide of Urslingen, and he was captured at the Battle of Fossalta , dying in captivity.
