William V (29 September 1548 – 7 February 1626), called the Pious, (German: Wilhelm V., der Fromme, Herzog von Bayern) was Duke of Bavaria from 1579 to 1597. Education and early life [ edit ] William V was born in Landshut , the son of Albert V and Archduchess Anna of Austria .

Guillermo V de Wittelsbach, llamado el Piadoso, ( Landshut, 29 de septiembre de 1548 - Schleissheim, 7 de febrero de 1626), duque de Baviera de 1579 hasta 1597. Primogénito del duque Alberto V el Magnanimo y de la archiduquesa austriaca Ana de Habsburgo, se casó en 1568 con Renata de Lorena. A la muerte de su padre asumió el ducado en 1579.
