Finlandia. Finlandia, oficialmente República de Finlandia (en finlandés, Suomi o Suomen tasavalta; en sueco Finland o Republiken Finland) es un país nórdico situado en el norte de Europa. Tiene fronteras al oeste con Suecia, al este con Rusia y al norte con Noruega.
Finland är en representativ demokrati, vars lagstiftande församling, riksdagen, en genom direkta och proportionella val vald enkammarriksdag, företräder folket. Val sker regelbundet vart fjärde år i mars. Finlands regering kallas statsrådet (fi. valtioneuvosto) och leds av en statsminister.
Following the defeat of the Provisional Government in the Bolshevik led October Revolution of November 1917, Finland's political class was divided on how to approach independence. The right wanted to seek recognition for independence from the West, while the left wanted to first be recognized by the new Bolshevik government.
