With understated folk-rock backing (Pentangle bassist Danny Thompson plays bass on most of the cuts), Drake created a vaguely mysterious, haunting atmosphere, occasionally embellished by tasteful Baroque strings.

25 de abr. de 2024 · This poetic number is from Nick Drake’s 1969 album called Five Leaves Left. It was recorded in London between July 1968 and June 1969, and was released to mixed reviews. It wasn’t until a remastered version was released in 2000 that it began to receive much critical acclaim.
Nick Drake-Five Leaves Left. Nick Drake music has this somber yet whimsical sound. Maybe it is his soft tender vocal delivery, his amazing acoustic guitar playing or knowing he left this earth too soon. I always get a little sad after finishing one of his albums yet I feel empowered to go on.
Her third album The Dreaming was her most experimental and her first that she self produced. It might not have many of her crossover hits but it is still one a must listen. The album opens with “Sat At Your Lap” which was the first single as well. It features some whiplash percussion from drummer Preston Hymann.
