26 de jul. de 2020 · John William Polidori was born in London in 1795. His father, Gaetano, was an Italian political refugee, his mother an English governess. Polidori’s sister Frances would marry the exiled Italian scholar Gabriele Rossetti, making John the uncle of the Pre-Raphaelite painter Dante Gabriel Rossetti and his poet sister Christina.
29 de oct. de 2021 · His sister Frances went on to marry another Italian, the politically exiled Gabriele Rossetti, and their children were the Pre-Raphaelite artist Dante Gabriel Rossetti, the critic William Michael Rossetti, the poet Christina Rossetti and the author (and nun) Maria Francesca Rossetti. This made Polidori their uncle, albeit posthumously.

A esto se sumó su carácter rebelde, muy similar al de su hermano Dante, pero que con el tiempo consiguió suavizar; y el tipo de educación recibida, influida por su madre, quien la instruyó con la lectura de textos religiosos, y su abuelo Gaetano Polidori, del que tomó prestada su atención por la naturaleza y la observación de la corruptibilidad y mortalidad.
