Anna was the heiress of Frederick III, Count of Veldenz, the last from the Hohengeroldseck family to rule the county, and his wife Margaret of Nassau-Saarbrücken. In 1409, she married Stephen, Count Palatine of Simmern-Zweibrücken, thereby bringing the County of Veldenz into the possession of the Dukes of Palatinate-Zweibrücken.

In the same year, he also divided the country between his sons Frederick I, who became Count Palatine of Simmern, and Louis I, who became Count Palatine of Zweibrücken. In 1448 he succeeded to one part of Palatinate-Neumarkt and sold the other to his younger brother Otto [citation needed].
John Casimir, Count Palatine of Simmern (German: Johann Casimir von Pfalz-Simmern) (7 March 1543 – 16 January [O.S. 6 January] 1592) was a German prince and a younger son of Frederick III, Elector Palatine.
Philip died in Krossen and was buried in Simmern. Marriage. Louis Philip married Marie Eleonore von Brandenburg (1 April 1607 - 18 February 1675), daughter of Elector Joachim Frederick, on 4 December 1631 and had the following children: Charles Frederick (6 January 1633 - 13 January 1635) Gustavus Louis (1 March 1634 - 5 August 1635)
Life. Frederick was born in Zweibrücken in 1585 as the second son of John I, Count Palatine of Zweibrücken and Magdalene of Jülich-Cleves-Berg. After his father's death in 1604, Frederick Casimir and his brothers partitioned his territories; Frederick Casimir received the territory around Landsberg Castle near Obermoschel.
He was the younger son of Stephen, Count Palatine of Simmern-Zweibrücken and his wife Anna, heiress of the County of Veldenz, whom he had wed in 1409. Although Anne died in 1439, her widower did not obtain Veldenz from her family until 1444.
