Frederick John Robinson, 1st Earl of Ripon, PC (1 November 1782 – 28 January 1859), styled The Honourable F. J. Robinson until 1827 and known between 1827 and 1833 as The Viscount Goderich (pronounced / ˈ ɡ oʊ d r ɪ tʃ / GOH-dritch [1]), the name by which he is best known to history, was a British politician who served as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1827 to 1828.

Frederick John Robinson or FJ Robinson was the first Earl of Ripon. He was born on the 30th of October, 1792 in the Newby Hall, Yorkshire near London. A portrait of Frederick Robinson by Sir Thomas Lawrence. His father was Thomas Robinson – 2nd Baron Grantham. His mother was called Lady Mary Jemima Grey Yorke.
