Hace 4 días · Dudley North. 4th son of the 4th Lord North, and brother of the 1st Earl of Guilford (Lord Chancellor) and of Roger North (author of the Examen and of Lives of the Norths). He was an early advocate of Free Trade, and is described by Macaulay as 'one of the ablest men of the time.'

Dudley, 3rd Lord North, in 1629 settled the estate after his death on his wife Frances in trust to permit their eldest son Dudley to rent it from her at £850 a year; he died in 1666.
