1 de may. de 2024 · The Ascanian line of Saxe-Wittenberg became extinct with the death of Elector Albert III in 1422, whereafter Emperor Sigismund bestowed the country and electoral dignity upon Margrave Frederick IV of Meissen, who had been a loyal supporter in the Hussite Wars.
25 de abr. de 2024 · Grablege der Wettiner. Die Fürstenkapelle hat man um 1420 an die Westturmanlage angesetzt. Ihr Stifter war Markgraf Friedrich der Streitbare, der 1423 mit dem Herzogtum Sachsen belehnt wurde und damit auch die Kurwürde erhielt. In der Begräbniskapelle der Wettiner wurden bis 1539 die Kurfürsten und Herzöge von Sachsen beigesetzt.
