  3. There is a very interesting, in my opinion, Goncharov's book "Frigate Pallada" (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frigate_%22Pallada%22). It describes the first Russian diplomatic mission to Japan, in 1852-1854, on the eve of the Meiji revolution.

  5. What do you mean by “describes Russia”? For that, you need to read history books, memoirs, and other such mostly non-fiction stuff. Is there a novel that described France!?

  6. 5 de dic. de 2021 · The fact is even mentioned in Ivan Goncharov's book 'Frigate "Pallada"' - in the piece called "Twenty Years On". https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frigate_%22Pallada%22 The thing is, when Diana and Pallada met in July 1854 in Chikhachev Bay, most people involved in the mission moved from Pallada to Diana.
