Now AA applied the same magic on its new 787-800 squeezing one extra seat in for each economy row, 3-3-3 hence 9 seats per row, comparing to JAL 787-800's 2-4-2, 8 seats per row in economy. Qatar's own w/s seat layout was incorrect, whereas Seat Guru's was correct. I assumed Qatar would be right & therefore got the wrong seat on the row where the seat in front was meant to be a gap. It wasn't, and to boot my legs were crushed by the seat in front. I am 1.86m. I had to put 1 leg in the aisle.
Design of the seats does not allow the armrest to lift to 90 degrees vertical, instead only going to about 50 degrees. Reclined seats in row 36 make egress difficult.
