Galeazzo II Visconti (c. 1320 – 4 August 1378) was a member of the Visconti dynasty and a ruler of Milan, Italy. His most notable military campaigns were against Pope Gregory XI, around 1367. These battles fought between the papacy and the Visconti family ultimately ended in a peace treaty.

Gian Galeazzo I Visconti (Pavía, 16 de octubre de 1351-Melegnano, 3 de septiembre de 1402) fue un gobernante milanés, último señor y primer duque de Milán (1395), primer conde de Pavía (1396), primer duque de Lombardía (1397) y el que llevó a la dinastía de los Visconti al apogeo de su poder.
Entre 1360-1370 el Duque Galeazzo II Visconti construyó, a lo largo de las murallas medievales de la ciudad, una pequeña fortaleza, Castrum Portae Jovis (Castillo de la Puerta Jovis), también nombrado Castillo Visconti. La construcción de 180×180 metros tenía una torre en cada esquina.
