Gebhard Truchsess von Waldburg-Trauchburg (1547-1601) was Prince-Elector-Archbishop of Cologne. In December 1577, Gebhard was chosen elector of Cologne and underwent priestly ordination in 1578. Also in 1578 he was given Cologne (the »Erzstift«) as an elector by Emperor Rudolf II., in 1580 confirmed by Pope Gregory XIII.
