Davis studied drama at New England College and later at Boston University ’s College of Fine Arts, from which she graduated in 1979; she also worked in summer stock theatre.
Geena started the Geena Davis Institute because she was fed up with the lack of female representation in the shows her children were watching. 20 years later, Geena and the Institute team continue to advocate for stories and content that reflect our diverse world, and show children everywhere that if they can see it, they can be it.
