Georg Friedrich Zundel (13 October 1875 in Iptingen, Wiernsheim – 7 June 1948 in Stuttgart) was a German painter, farmer and art patron. At the age of fourteen, he went to Pforzheim, where he successfully finished an apprenticeship as a painter in 1891.

The Berghof estate was based largely on a design by Georg Friedrich Zundel. The intended combination of life and nature, of intellectual and physical work reflects the utopian princi ples of the German Lebensreform (life reform) movement around 1920.
1875 – 1889 | Georg Friedrich Zundel wird am 13. Oktober 1875 in Iptingen/Wiernsheim in der Nähe von Pforzheim in eine alt eingesessene Winzer, Brauer- und Gastwirtsfamilie hineingeboren. 1889 – 1894 | Als 14-Jähriger verlässt Zundel das Elternhaus und beginnt eine Lehre als Dekorationsmaler in Pforzheim. 1891 – 1894 besucht er die Kunstgewerbeschule in Karlsruhe.
The Berghof Foundation for Conflict Studies is founded by Georg Zundel as a private limited company with charitable tax-exempt status under German law. Initial support is provided for critical analyses of the arms race during the Cold War.
