George Frederick II (German: Georg Friedrich II.;3 May 1678 – 29 March 1703), also called George Frederick the Younger (German: der Jüngere), was Margrave of Brandenburg-Ansbach from 6 October 1692 until his death in 1703.

Biography. Early life. He was born in Ansbach, the second of eight sons of Margrave Frederick the Elder and his wife Sophia of Poland, daughter of Casimir IV of Poland and Elisabeth of Habsburg. Through his mother, he was related to the royal court in Buda.

George Frederick II, Margrave of Brandenburg-Ansbach , known as George Frederick the Younger, the third son of John Frederick, Margrave of Brandenburg-Ansbach by his first wife the Margravine Joanna Elisabeth of Baden-Durlach , succeeded his elder brother as Margrave of Ansbach in 1692.
21 de feb. de 2023 · Biography. George, Margrave of Brandenburg-Ansbach, born in Ansbach, was the second of eight sons of Margrave Frederick the Elder and his wife Sophia of Poland. Through his mother, he was related to the royal court in Buda. George entered the service of his uncle, King Vladislaus II of Bohemia and Hungary, living at his court from 1506.
George Frederick was Margrave of Brandenburg-Ansbach and Brandenburg-Kulmbach, as well as Regent of Prussia. He was the last of the old Franconia line of the House of Hohenzollern, he kept peace, rebuilt cities and castles and founded several schools and a university.
