George Grosz (George o Georg Ehrenfried Grosz; Berlín, 1893 - 1959) Artista alemán. De origen pequeño burgués, llevó a cabo su formación artística en la Königliche Akademie de Dresden (1909-1911) y, a partir de 1912, en la escuela dependiente del Museo de Artes y Oficios de Berlín; la obra de esta época es naturalista, y trata temas urbanos y sociales.

8 de mar. de 2024 · George Grosz was a German artist whose caricatures and paintings provided some of the most vitriolic social criticism of his time. After studying art in Dresden and Berlin from 1909 to 1912, Grosz sold caricatures to magazines and spent time in Paris during 1913.

George Grosz was a German artist known especially for his caricatural drawings and paintings of Berlin life in the 1920s. He was a prominent member of the Berlin Dada and New Objectivity groups during the Weimar Republic. He immigrated to the United States in 1933, and became a naturalized citizen in 1938.
