George II (Georgian: გიორგი II, romanized: giorgi II) (c. 1050 – 1112), of the Bagrationi dynasty, was a king of Georgia from 1072 to 1089. He was a son and successor of Bagrat IV and his wife Borena of Alania .

Details. Terms of Use. King George II of England signed the charter creating the colony of Georgia on April 21, 1732. Originally administered by a board of trustees, the colony later came under the direct governance of the king, from 1752 until his death in 1760, when his grandson George III assumed the throne.

The original land grant of the Province of Georgia included a narrow strip of land that extended west to the Pacific Ocean. [2] The colony's Corporate charter [3] was granted to General James Oglethorpe on April 21, 1732, by George II, for whom the colony was named.
